VTBH is a support group is a confidential group for families that have a loved one incarcerated, you are not alone! We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 800 E. 12th. We start with a potluck dinner at 5:30 and meeting is from 6pm to 7pm. Please let us know if you are bringing children so we can be prepared. We have support nights, speakers and when we can go on family field trips together. This is an environment that families are felt very welcomed in, our motto is “what is said here stays here”. We are here to listen and support you as much as we can.

Warren County Health Services has flu shots available!
We will bill most insurances, otherwise we ask for a $24 donation to cover the cost of the vaccine. We are also able to provide the flu vaccine free of charge to children age 18 years and younger who do not have health insurance.

The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is partnering with DMARC’s new Mobile Food Pantry. The ARL will join DMARC at selected locations to distribute free pet food to those in need of assistance. No proof of income or documentation is required, but please be prepared to complete a short questionnaire. Supplies are limited.

STORYBOOK PROJECT supports children with incarcerated parents by enhancing the relationship between the child and their parent due to the difficult period of separation Community volunteers help organize monthly reading sessions at the Iowa Correctional Institute for Women in Mitchellville, the Newton Correctional Facility and the Iowa Correctional Release Center in Newton Volunteers assist incarcerated parents and grandparents with selecting and reading a book to their child via recording, and sending the book and recording home to their child The program also offers a parenting class for mothers at the ICIW in Mitchellville 515-288-1516.

SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM offers companionship and assistance with daily living needs to homebound adults through the Senior Companion Program.
